No favouritism in loan scheme: PM

ISLAMABAD - Reviewing the progress on Youth Business Loan, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed to ensure provincial quota and five per cent quota for disabled in the loan scheme.
“The complaint redressal should be done on fast track basis,” the PM said chairing a meeting to review the progress of Youth Business Loan Scheme here at the PM House.
The meeting was attended by Ishaq Dar, Minister for Finance, Pervaiz Rasheed, Minister for Information, Mariam Nawaz, Honorary Chairperson of the Youth Programme, and other senior government officials from Ministry of Finance, SMEDA, NBP, and First Women Bank.
The PM also directed Chairman National Bank of Pakistan, Muneer Kamal, to review the rejected applications and ascertain the grounds on which they were rejected. “If an application is found correct, it should be added to the list of eligible applicants,” he further instructed, while stressing upon transparency in the scheme.
The Prime Minister further said that in youth business loan scheme no favouritism would be tolerated. He also directed for speedy processing of the applications by the bank officials. In order to make it fast and transparent, he also assured that he would personally review the progress of the scheme.
