Rawalpindi - The police have intensified hunt for the perpetrators of Chitti Hattian bomb blast.

Meanwhile, case of Chitti Hattian blast was lodged with police station Waris Khan, besides constituting an investigation team headed by SP Rawal Division Karamat Ullah Malik to probe into the heinous crime.

In this regard the police and other law enforcement agencies carried out search operations in various localities of the district, nabbing 12 suspects and checking several houses, hotels, motels and vehicles, informed police spokesman on Saturday.

According to police spokesman, police under the supervision of Regional Police Officer Akhter Umar Hayyat Lalayka carried out search operation in different parts of the city and held 12 suspects. All the detainees were shifted to undisclosed location for investigation, he added.

Similarly, the LEAs conducted search operation in the areas of Morgah and Lalzar and checked 40 houses and grilled 65 persons. The police also enhanced road checking and probed the owners of 20 vehicles and 25 motorcycles.

On the hand, an investigation team has also been formed to probe the Chitti Hattian blast case. Under the supervision of SP Rawal Division Karamat Ullah Malik, the team would investigate the matter through different angles.

A source also confided to The Nation that the intelligence agencies have obtained CCTV footage of a man seen planting explosive material near Aun Muhammad Rizvi Imambargah.

According to him, some two-kg explosive material was used in the blast. However, some locals interviewed by this scribe rejected the claim of agencies, saying it was a suicide attack carried out by an unknown bike rider.
