ISLAMABAD- Inter-Services Intelligence chief Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar today met Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in Kabul and reviewed ways to increase anti-terror coordination.

Akhtar visited Afghanistan for the third time since November 2014. “President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani received ISI chief Lt General Rizwan Akhtar in his office,” the Presidential Palace said.

Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen joint efforts against militancy and extremism.

A Pakistani security official confirmed the visit but refused to comment on the nature of the meeting. “The Afghan statement is enough and we will not add anything more,” he said.
