Doctor shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR - Unidentified armed attackers shot dead a doctor inside his clinic at Hayatabad posh area by opening indiscriminate firing on him Saturday.
Belonging to Shia sect, Dr Mohamamd Syed Asim Hussian son of Zamin Ali Shah, resident of Phase-2, Hayatabad, was present in his clinic in the morning when two armed bike riders entered into the clinic and opened indiscriminate firing on him and fled.
Resultantly, Dr Asim Hussian died on the spot by receiving critical injuries. To nab the killers, police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation but they failed tp arrest them. Amid tight security, the dead body was later shifted to Hussanian imambargah at Saddr and after offering funeral prayers, he was buried at his ancestral graveyard.
Blast damages house
The house of a member of the peace Lashkar was partially damaged when a bomb planted near it exploded on Saturday in suburbs of the provincial metropolis.
According to police, the inner wall of ex-commander Nyaz Wali’s house situated at Urmarh was damaged while nearby houses got partially affected due to the heavy intensity blast, however, no human casualties were reported in the happening.
Sources in the Bomb Disposable Squad(BDS) informed that about five kilo grams of explosives were used in the blast.
Police said that after receiving the information, heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and started search operation to find out perpetrators of the happening. An FIR has been registered against unknown persons and the investigation is underway in this regard.
