ISLAMABAD - Reiterating his government’s resolve to go all-out against terrorists, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that they would not sit idle till the elimination of terrorism from the country.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, Premier Sharif said that whole nation is united against this menace and would not let the terrorists escape the strong arm of law.

Referring to the suicide attack on Imambargah in Rawalpindi resulting in the loss of seven lives, Premier Sharif said that such cowardly acts on part of terrorists could not deter them and the hunt for militants in every nook and corner of the country would continue. He said that the government would utilise all resources to find out terrorists and to bring them to the book.

Meanwhile, in another development Premier Sharif soon after hearing the news of suicide attack on Imambargah on Friday night asked Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif to himself monitor the relief and rescue work while at the same time directed Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan to coordinate with the provincial government in the investigation.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif congratulated Maithripala Sirisena on his election as President of Sri Lanka.

In his telephonic conversation with Maithripala Sirisena, new president of Sri Lanka, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Shairf has felicitated him on his victory in the recently held presidential election in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

In a message to President-elect, the prime minister described his success as a clear affirmation by the Sri Lankan people in his leadership and vision for his country.

The prime minister expressed the hope that the relationship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka would continue to prosper during his term in office.

 He underlined his confidence that the leadership of the two countries would be able to further deepen and broaden the bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of our two brotherly countries.
