Pakistan as an agricultural country and has seen many ups and downs in its agricultural growth. This year it is expecting a bumper wheat crop. As the wheat yield is expected to be high, we are once again exporting wheat to other countries. Pakistani traders are offering wheat in international markets at competitive prices. Since sanctions have been put in place for Russia, Russian wheat is not being picked up. Instead Pakistani wheat has found a new and thriving market. This is a great opportunity for Pakistan. Firstly, it is excellent that we are self- sufficient in wheat, and secondly that we have enough stock as an emergency backup, and thirdly that we can export excess wheat. Let’s hope this winning streak continues and we can now focus on other agricultural products to export as well.
