HAFIZABAD-Hundreds of powerlooms workers and those working in other small factories have been rendered jobless due to unprecedented loadshedding in the area for the past 4 days.

Moreover, business of petty shopkeepers has come to a standstill due to prolonged shutdown/loadshedding in the area. During the past, 72 hours, the Gepco has manoeuvred about 60 hours loadshedding which has virtually paralysed business activities. Furthermore absolutely low pressure of Sui gas has caused multiple problems for the housewives to cook meals for their families. Naturally there is heavy rush at the ovens and restaurants and the citizens were constrained to bear extra expenses to feed their families.

SCHOOLS SECURITY REVIEWED: Zero tolerance will be shown toward those officials found negligent in provision of security to students, declared Nasir Walayat Langrial, Section Officer of the Punjab Education Directorate. While reviewing security arrangements made by the administration as well as managements of schools/colleges, he expressed satisfaction over the arrangements being made for the security of the students. However, he said that walkthrough gates, CCTV cameras, metal detectors and security guards should be arranged at the educational institutions without fail.

Meanwhile, DPO Shakir Hussain Dawar said that fool proof security arrangements around educational institutions are being ensured. He visited the Police Lines where policemen were being imparted special counter-terrorism training. He directed that patrolling by mobile cops should be ensured outside the educational institutions to prevent any untoward incident.
