Meanwhile, PPP Punjab President Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo has appreciated the decision of setting up military courts as a right step in the right direction to eliminate terrorism in the country.

He said that the United States of America had also set up the same courts after 9/11 to deal with the terror threats. “We are also in a state of war and the situation demands extraordinary measures from us,” he added.

He said that the present military courts have been established through the Parliament, therefore, they differ in nature from the courts which act totally under the military control.

“These courts will hear the cases which the Federal government will refer to them. Moreover, they are only two years period,” Wattoo said, adding that the parliament would decide about these courts if they failed to deliver.
