ISLAMABAD - Star-studded SSGC had to dig very deep to carve out nervy 12 runs victory against Islamabad Region in the National One-Day Cup 2015-16 Round One Pool-A match on Sunday.

After putting into bat, SSGC hammered 303-8 in 50 overs. Babar Azam made stylish 101, Asif 100, Awais Zia 59. Hassan Ali captured 4 for 41, while Shahzad Azam Rana also chipped in with 2 for 54. In reply, Islamabad were all out for 291. Ali Sarfraz made 66, Abid Ali 56. Zafar Gohar and Sohail Khan picked up 3 wickets each.

At Arbab Niaz Stadium Peshawar, thanks to sensational unbeaten 127 by opener Israrullah, Peshawar Region hammered Port Qasim by 9 wickets. After putting into bat, Port Qasim scored 232-9. Khalid Latif made 70 and Kamran Younis 53. Nasir Ahmed picked up 3 for 44.

Peshawar Region achieved the target in only 36.4 overs losing just one wicket. Adil Amin remained unbeaten at 68.

At Pindi Stadium, UBL outclassed Hyderabad by massive 134 runs. UBL after put in to bat first made 283-9. Shan MAsood hit 107, Sharjeel Khan 56, Kashif Bhatti captured 3 for 52 while Lal Kumar and Rao Sajid took 2 wickets each. Hyderabad were bundled out for 149 in 33.3 overs. Rizwan Ahmed made 41. Karamat Ali took 4 for 54, while Yasim Murtaza 2-16, Ehsan Adil 2-21 and Sadaf Mahdi 2-29 were the other wicket-takers.

At Marghazar ground, Lahore Region Blues beat SNGPL by 7 wickets. Batting first, SNGPL made 288-4. Azhar Ali made unbeaten 132 and Imran Khalid unbeaten 90. Bilawal Iqbal took 2 for 56. Lahore Blues reached home in 45.1 overs. M Ikhlaq made unbeaten 100, Fahad-ul-Haq 83 and Tayyab Tahir 57. Bilawal Bhatti 1-41, Azhar Ali1-47, Imran Khalid 1-57.
