A Health Department team was beaten up and humiliated by the owner of a factory and his accomplices when the team raided the cream manufacturing factory.
On a tip-off, the police reached the spot with heavy squad and controlled the situation. The factory was sealed by the police but no case could be registered because of political influence of the factory owner. Earlier, DCO Shahid Niaz had directed Drug Inspector Ateeq and Ameer Shahid to take strict action against the factory which manufactured cream under the name of “Action C” at Shahpur near Kehror Pakka city. However, factory owner Naeem Sheikh along with his brothers and dozens of other accused reached the spot and held the team hostage and also beat up them. They damaged the government vehicles as well. The police rescued the officials and sealed the factory.
The Health Department dispatched a complaint to the Police Station City Kehror Pakka but the police did not register a case due to political pressure of the accused. Drug Inspector Ameer Shahid said that they have dispatched the formal complaint against factory owner Naeem Sheikh and his 2 brothers Shahzad Ahmad and Irfan. He added that the accused had been manufacturing substandard cream for a long time and distributing it throughout the country. He added that the action was taken after test reports.
