FAISALABAD-Institute of Home Sciences, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) arranged a cloth designing exhibition at the Iqbal Auditorium.
The expo was set up by the students of Clothing and Designing of the institute. It was inaugurated by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqbal Zafar. Dean Faculty of Food, Nutrition and Home Sciences Dr Masood Sadiq Butt, In-charge Home Sciences Dr Ayesha Riaz and Charmin Entomology Dr Jalal Arif also attended.
Talking to the participants, Dr Iqbal Zafar said that such innovative ideas will pave the way for the development. He said that 50 percent of the population comprises women. He added that women contribution to the socio-economic activities will help the country make rapid progress.
One of the dress items was themed at royalty with fragrance with the technique of block and screen printing and was designed by Aatika. The other one was themed at source of inspiration flower. The stall was set up by Zumaira Najam and Zumaira Saleem. A stall was themed at creating surface of fabric for home décor developed by Ayesha Noor, Adina Maryam, Maha Noor and Aatikah. Another was themed wonderland and was set up by Huma Bushra and Sana Masood. The other stall was themed at Denim panel shirt and was created by Hina Muarik and Maryam Zulfiqar.
The stalls were themed at black and white with floral window display; butterfly effects by Whsan Ali and Jawaira Gulshan; and the fabric cotton by Madiha Mazhar.
