Islamabad - Industrial Area police on Wednesday recovered a six-month old female baby who had been abducted from a daycare center in sector I-8/2, a police spokesman said. Police also arrested a female kidnapper along with her husband.
He said that Asim Waqar lodged a report with Industrial Area police station that he and his wife had admitted their six-month old daughter ‘Rania’ in a daycare center in House 490, street 48, sector I-8/2 Islamabad. He added that the staff of daycare center told his wife on the last day that Rania has been kidnapped by a maid named Huma who works at the facility. Following this incident, Senior Superintendent Sajid Kiani assigned the task to SP Liaqat Hyat Niazi to ensure recovery of the baby. He constituted a special team under supervision of SDPO Industrial Area Rana Abdul Wahab that managed to arrest the accused woman and her husband after raid at village ‘Dhareeka’, Jhang Bahatar. The accused was hiding at her relative’s house and confessed during initial investigation to have kidnapped the female baby because she had not been able to birth a child for the last four years. IGP Islamabad Sultan Azam Temuri and SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani announced special prizes and commendation certificates for the team members, said the police.
