SIALKOT-Hundreds of people including women belonging to Kotli Loharaan and surrounding areas of Sialkot staged a protest in front of the offices of SNGPL in Sialkot against gas outages.

The protesting women were carrying kitchen items and beating their chests against the unending outages and very low pressure of gas. The protesting people were also carrying banners and placards. They also chanted anti-government slogans. They staged a sit-in in front of the offices of SNGPL at Sialkot.

Later, the protesting people also besieged the SNGPL offices and pelted its gate with stones. The officials called the police which dispersed the protesting people.

They said that the people in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur and surrounding areas have been suffering great ordeal due to the loadshedding and very low pressure of gas.

The protesting people were of the view that almost all the congested residential, commercial and industrial areas of Sialkot city including Pakka Garha, Kotli Behram, Model Town, Gohadpur, Muslim Town, Kashmir Road, Pak Pura, Prem Nagar, Nishat Park, Pooran Nagar, Water Works, Green Wood Street, Nehal Chand Street , Dara Aaraaiyaan, Tajpura, Hajipura, Rangpura, Hajipura Ban, Naikapura, Mubarakpura, Muhammadpura, Kashmiri Muhallah, Hamza Ghaus, Shafi Da Bhatta, Imam Sahib, Fatehgarh and Muhallah Bijli Ghar were badly hit by the worst loadshedding of gas.

They said the pressure of gas also remains very low when they had gas for about two hours. On the other hand, the loadshedding of gas for the domestic consumers has irked the consumers especially the females in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur, Chawinda, Badiana and surrounding areas.

When contacted, the local officials said that th esituation would soon become better as the SNGPL was making efforts to overcome the low pressure of gas by ensuring the early drilling of the gas pipelines in Sialkot district.

Meanwhile, Punjab government has upgraded Sialkot border villages’ four government girls middle schools to high school for providing the high education to the local students. MNA Armughan Subhani told the newsmen that government had upgraded Govt Girls Middle School Dait, Govt. Girls Middle School Bhainse, Govt. Girls Middle School Wad Graan-Bajwat and Govt. Girls Middle School Meenderwal to the high school level.

REPORT: The doctors and paramedics provided the medical health facilities to 688,802 outdoor and 147,587 indoor patients at Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot during the year of 2017.

Medical Superintendent Dr Khalid Faiz Butt stated while talking to the newsmen that as many as 97,791 critical patients were also treated at the Trauma Center Sialkot here besides conducting 8293 major and 22039 small surgeries in this hospital during 2017.
