RAWALPINDI - While taking action on public complaints in an Open Katchehri, City Police Office (CPO) Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan Friday suspended four police officers and also locked them in Police Lines. As per details, more than 20 complainants appeared before CPO in open katchehri and lodged their various complaints against police officials who did not cooperate with them in different cases. Shaista Rashid told CPO that Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) Mumtaz Hussain of Police Station (PS) Airport was intentionally not arresting the accused of her case. On this Iqbal suspended the ASI and detained him to police lines. The CPO on the complaint of Shagufta Aziz also placed Incharge Police Post Gulzar-e- Quaid Sub Inspector (SI) Riaz under suspension. Mehmood Ahmed resident of Kallar Seydan informed the CPO Rao Iqbal that PS Kallar Seydan officials had detained innocent citizens. On this CPO Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan suspended two ASIs Ejaz Hussain and Hafeez Ullah for illegally detaining citizens in police custody. CPO Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan warned all the police officers that strict action would be taken against them if they did not assist general public. Meanwhile, police following the directions of CPO, nabbed seven criminals and seized narcotics, illegal arms and liquor from their possession. Ten Proclaimed Offenders (POs) were also arrested. Police, during action against anti social elements, captured seven criminals besides seizing illegal arms including three pistols, one riffle, 36 rounds, seven bottles of liquor and 130 gm of Charas. Separate cases have also been registered against them while interrogation is underway. Citizens deprives of cars, motorcycles Unidentified thieves Friday deprived citizens of their vehicles and motorcycles. Police registered cases against the car lifters and started investigation in this regard. According to details, one Muhammad Munir resident of Afshan Colony informed Police Station (PS) RA Bazaar that some car lifters had stolen his car bearing registration number RLA-7554 by breaking the locks of garage. Police took action immediately and recovered the car while car lifters managed to escape. Two motorcycles have also been stolen from the jurisdictions of PS Sadiqabad and Piwadhae while cases had also been registered against unidentified burglars on the applications of Amjad and Abid Mehmood. Meanwhile, Ghulam Muhammad a resident of Dhamial told PS Saddar Berooni that his driver namely Baber Hussain had borrowed his car number RIR-669 for his domestic use but did not return and escaped. Police have registered a case against the accused.
