'Settlement of Kashmir issue vital for peace

MIRPUR - Former Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has said that the settlement of Kashmir dispute is imperative for peace and stability in South Asia. Addressing a mammoth gathering of party workers here on Sunday evening, the former AJK PM said he hoped that the upcoming visit of acting Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar to India would be fruitful adding that the Kashmir issue would hopefully be discussed in the meeting on July 18 in addition to the proposed modalities for introducing additional Cross-LoC CBMs. He said Pakistans acting Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khars visit to New Delhi was the continuation of the bilateral talks between Foreign Secretaries of Pakistan and India. He said after formation of government in AJK, the PPP will accord top priority to Kashmir issue and make all out efforts for resolution of the old dispute pending between India and Pakistan. He greeted the entire population of liberated territory on sweeping elections besides winning candidates of PPAJK. The victory in AJK elections is the clear proof of the great affiliation of people of the area with PPP, he added. He said the leadership of AJK PPP was also thankful to the people of the liberated territory for electing maximum candidates of the party.
