LAHORE: Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Kh Salman Rafiq has directed the officials to monitor outdoor and indoor dengue surveillance. Chairing a meeting of Town Emergency Response Committee (TERC) at the office of Assistant Commissioner Lahore Cantt on Thursday, he directed the officials to send samples of dengue larva to the Institute of Public Health (IPH) for analysis.  MPA Lubna Faisal, AC Cantt Rao Imtiaz Ahmed, Additional Director General Health (Epidemic Emergency and Response) Dr Islam Zafar, EDO Health Lahore Dr Zulfiqar Ali, District Coordinator Dengue Control Programme Dr Farrukh, DDO (H) Dr Faisal, Entomologists, Environmental Inspector and Sanitary Supervisors attended the meeting.–Staff Reporter

Kh Salman Rafiq directed completing the process for recruitment of lady sanitary patrols and other dengue staff. He directed convening Technical Advisory Committee meeting. He said that no leniency would be tolerated as the dengue season has been started. He expressed dissatisfaction over the data of indoor and outdoor dengue surveillance and directed the concerned officers to prepare correct data so that implementation on micro planning could be done according to the SOPs.

EDO Health told that the advertisement regarding the recruitment of the staff has already been sent to the newspapers for seeking applications. He said that sufficient stock of medicines used in larveiciding and spray was available at the main store. The meeting was informed that dengue larva was found from Civil Services Academy Walton and few other places including shops. 

DDO (H) Dr Faisal informed that 32 fogger machines, 110 spray pumps and 90 kg of deltamatherine 5%, 65 liters deltamatherine liquid and 65 kg temiphose insecticides was available in the stock.
