A Punjab Teacher Union delegation met with education sector high-ups and demanded a criteria for teachers’ promotion.

They also urged Punjab Education Additional Secretary Riaz Ahmad Butt and other official Ahmad Ali Kamboh to promote the teachers as per their academic qualification and eliminate the difference between promotion criteria of teachers of these cadres. They said that hundreds of teachers had been working for years without any promotion.

In the meeting, PUT office-bearers said that unless the Education Department promotes teachers according to their qualification and seniority, education system could not be improved in the Punjab province.

They appreciated the educational vision of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. They pledged to fully cooperate with the Education Department for uplifting the system in Punjab.

In the meeting, PTU Secretary General Ch Muhammad Arshad Gill, Additional Secretary Muhammad Arif Sahu, Secretary Information Mirza Tariq Mehmood, Deputy Secretaries Asif Majeed and Mushtaq Ahmad, Islam Siddiq and Mumtaz Shah were also present.
