ACCA holds corporate networking session

LAHORE (PR): The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) hosted a corporate dinner based on the theme ‘Accountants for Business’ in Faisalabad. This engagement will be beneficial in building relationships with all the prominent employers of Fasialabad.

The corporate networking session was attended by the President FCCI, Engineer Rizwan Ashraf and it was to highlight the FCCI members in attracting, developing and retaining the best finance talent.

It is pertinent to mention that ACCA is committed to supporting its student and member base in Faisalabad and therefore an Approved Employer Ceremony was conducted with the employers coming on onboard committing towards training ACCA Affiliates in achieving membership.

President FCCI also addressed the audience and took the opportunity to address all the corporate decision makers recognizing ACCA Pakistan’s contributions toward developing the finance talent Pakistan needs. He mentioned how ACCA was adding value across the whole spectrum of business activity. He also assured FCCI’s support and assistance to ACCA Pakistan in their all initiatives in future. The highlight of the ceremony was the addition of the newly approved employers who were presented certificates on this occasion which were received by their CFOs present at the event. Rafhan Maize Products, Bismillah Textile, Anjum Textile and JK Group of companies were the new additions to ACCA’s Executive Approved Employer club.

MJSF sponsors young professionals

LAHORE (PR): The Mahvash and Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation (MJSF) has sponsored young professionals, selected from all over Pakistan for the European Academy of Diplomacy Summer Programmes taking place in Warsaw, Poland. The participants were selected after extensive interview sessions for the school of fundamental diplomatic skills programme and the school of advanced diplomatic skills programme which are a two week long summer courses designed for young professionals.

The programmes prepare the participants for the challenges and rigors of diplomacy, public speaking, bilateral negotiations, fundamentals of leadership, diplomatic protocol, international business and working in multinational organisations.

This is the first time Mahvash and Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation is collaborating with the European Academy of Diplomacy for aspiring diplomats &young professionals as part of its belief in investing in progressive learning programs for the betterment of Pakistan. Previously MJSF has been involved in summer programs taking place at National University of Singapore and Weill Cornell Medical College, Qatar.

Burj Ramadan CSR - 2015

Be it disaster relief, community development, medical aid or sharing moments of joy with the underprivileged, Burj & its employees have always honored their commitment of “giving beyond the workplace”. Recently Burj employees along with the Senior Management visited the ‘Edhi Child Home’ to share the barakah of the holy month & Eid with the beautiful children at the facility for the 3rd consecutive year.

The Burj Family also presented Eid dresses, gifts and Eidi packs to the children residing at the orphanage and spent quality time with them over iftar.

LCWU VC retires

LAHORE (PR): Prof. Dr. Sabiha Mansoor, after completing her four year term, retired as Vice Chancellor of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore.

In her farewell address to the top academic and administrative staff in the University Syndicate Hall, she highlighted the achievements gained during her tenure. She delivered a vote of thanks to all staff members for their cooperation. She inaugurated newly built IT Block as her last official activity in the campus.

This block has been constructed in record short time and consists of two state of the art computer labs and three class rooms. Dr. Sabiha Mansoor showed her satisfaction over what University has performed in the field of education, research and infrastructural development. She wished that all projects started in these four years should be continued by the next leadership. Senior faculty members, registrar, treasurer, directors and other administrative staff paid homage for her services as head of the institutions and presented her bouquet.

Al Meezan announces cash dividend

Entertainer opens 2nd store

LAHORE (PR): Renowned UK toy shop “The Entertainer” opened their newest store on Link Road in Model Town this Saturday with a day of thrills and fun. This is the third store opened by The Entertainer in Pakistan, and the second in Lahore.
