LAHORE - Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal and Lahore General Hospital Prof Khalid Mahmood has stressed the need for abiding by traffic rules.

Delivering a lecture at PGMI yesterday, he said that use of cell phone and one wheeling could cause loss of precious human lives.

Prof Khalid Mahmood said that as young contributors to nation, students must resolve to act upon the traffic laws for reducing accidents. He stressed upon the parents and teachers to fulfill their duties by guiding young generation about traffic discipline.

He suggested that there must be a special lecture on importance of traffic rules in every educational institution on weekly basis.

Meanwhile, a 5-day training course on "Governance, Finance and Audit" for the principals of government colleges will start here at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) tomorrow (Tuesday).

The course is being organised and funded by Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC).

In first phase, 50 principals of public sector degree colleges will be provided training in financial matters.
