LAHORE: Prominent artist, social crusader and peace activist Jimmy Engineer has paid rich tributes to iconic humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi describing him as a Saint of Pakistan who spent his life in serving the  humanity selflessly in a committed and determined manner without amy discrimination of creed, colour, region and gender.

In telephonic conversation with his journalist friends, Jimmy Engineer said in the demise of Abdul Sattar Edhi, people in general and needy, destitutes and orphans in particular have lost their great sympathiser who always cared and stood for them in hour of trial and tribulation.

He said Abdul Sattar Edhi lived quite ideal, simple and enviable life and left behind mission of service to the humanity to be carried forward by Edhi Foundation and emulated by people who want to earn a great name for themselves through selfless ansd dedicated service to their fellow brethren and sisters.He said turning up of the civil and armed forces leadershiip along with thousands and thousands of people at his funeral , with State honours, was truly befitting farewell to a person who had lived all his life for helping others.

Jimmy said that he greatly admired Abdul Sattar Edhi and inspired from him in respect of rendering self-less service to the people. He recalled that he had jointly led a walk with Abdul Sattar Edhi way back in October 2005 which was organized by Mental Health Association Sindh in Karachi for creating awareness among the society for greater care, attention and welfare of the mentally-retarded people.

He reiterated that he is proud of promoting walk culture in the country and also being the pioneer for organizing fun, food and awareness programmes for the mentally-retarded, physically handicapped Special Children. He said that he has held many solo and group walks for sorts of noble causes all over Pakistan and organized the fun, food and awareness programmes for the Special Children in Karachi, Lahore as well as in island country of Sri Lanka. He said he is committed and determined to continue serving his motherland Pakistan through his art and inter-acting with the people from all walks of life while in foreign countries in connection with his international solo and group art shows , holding more and more walks and orghanizing the programmes for the Special Children as long as he is breathing.
