The government has recovered 89 billion rupees through the Tax Amnesty Scheme(TAS).

This was stated by Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Dr Shamshad Akhtar while speaking at a conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Islamabad on Wednesday.

She said this has helped to some extent in bridging tax shortfall.

The minister emphasized the need for greater partnership with local and international entities for the realization of SDGs goals but added that domestic resource mobilization was key to success.

She said NGOs and the corporate sector can play a significant role in sustainable progress towards implementation of SDGs.

Dr Shamshad Akhtar asked the Ministry of Planning and Development to prepare a road-map prioritizing SDGs and how to finance them.
