SC staffers donate two days salary in dams fund

Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) employees on Wednesday announced to donate two days salary for the fund created by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams.

Like other parts of the country’s lawyers, the SC employees also pledged to raise fund for the construction of desperately needed dams. Grade-16 and above made this announcement here on Wednesday. The decision was taken on the appeal of the top court judge.

According to details, Grade-2 to grade-15 employees of the Supreme Court are donating their one day salary while grade-15 and above donating two days salary.

Earlier, the Pakistan Army officers had announced to donate two days salary to the chief justice fund. 

It is pertinent to mention here that, on July 4, the top court chief justice had order creation of the fund for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams. A committee was also constituted under the supervision of WAPDA chairman.

The court had ordered the opening of a special account on the name of registrar supreme court. On July 6 while hearing a case pretending to the construction of dams and collection of donations for them the chief justice remarked no one would be allowed to grab the donated amount and systemic check and balance would be made to prevent corruption and misuse of power.
