Policemen on Monday risked their lives to foil a bid of armed gangsters to snatch a car from a motorist at gunpoint and arrested the accused.

According to detail, patrolling team of Margallah police station intercepted     two gangsters when they were trying to snatch a car from a motorist in G-9/1 at gunpoint, police said.

The team of police including Sub-Inspector Niaz Jafferi, Head Constable Zia Ullah Bajwa and driver Muhammad Aslam was on patrolling when they observed two persons and suspected their movement. The patrolling team kept monitoring them and finally intercepted them as they went near a Corolla Car (JZ-4310) and tried to snatch it at gunpoint.

Policemen rushed to the scene and head constable Zia Ullah Bajwa succeeded to overpower both of them, besides recovering two 30-bore pistols from them. They have been identified as Kashif Khan s/o Kifayat Ullah and Abass Khan s/o Anwar Khan, residents of Nowshera. Both of them confessed their involvement in various such car snatching incidents.
