LAHORE (PR): The workers of WAPDA observed “Thanks Giving Day” on winning fifth times nation-wide referendums consecutively and pledged to make concerted struggle to bring out the WAPDA from loadshedding and financial crisis and urged to the Prime Minister to provide gas and oil to closed Thermal Power Stations and develop Hydel and Coal fired Thermal and Coastal Power Houses on war footing basis and get paid Rs 1-1/2 trillion arrears of electricity dues form Karachi Electric Supply Company and government and other agencies to make the National Public Utility financially viable and demanded to implement the agreement reached between the union and Government of Pakistan for up-gradation of pay scales of the workers and recruitment of the children of employees against the prescribed quota and accepted other demands.

These demands were highlighted in large conference held under the aegis of All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union (CBA) which was participated by the representatives and workers from the various cities including Islamabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Lahore. It was addressed by the representatives of the union and Khurshid Ahmad Trade Union leader.
