MANDI BAHAUDDIN

There is no let-up in continued blackouts in the sizzling hot weather here while the new government has started blaming the past governments for increased power outages instead of removing the causes of loadshedding.

A local person said that the people expected quick relief from the new government but its operators have not initiated any action in this respect. He said that the government could provide relief from the loadshedding by stopping electricity theft, line loss, corruption from electricity department and immediate recovery of outstanding dues from defaulters.

He said the people were facing acute shortage of public transport as well. The transport mafia has established monopoly over the bus stands and they overcharge the passengers, he added. Besides, the mafia misbehaves with the public and does not provide any facility at bus stands for them, he lamented.
