QUETTA- Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has nominated former bureaucrat Muhammad Khan Achakzai, the elder brother of Mehmood Khan Achakzai, for the slot of Balochistan governor.

TheNation learnt that the party would formally announce the name of Muhammad Khan Achakzai for the governorship today. The PML-N, PkMAP and the National Party, following their victory in May 11 polls, nominated Dr Abdul Malik Baloch as the Balochistan chief minister and announced that the governor would be from PkMAP. Muhammad Khan Achakzai is a retired bureaucrat who had served in various federal departments and retired as chief economist.

Sources said that PkMAP had informed that PML-N’s central leadership about its decision and within one or two days Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif would move the summary to the president.  Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi has already sent his resignation to President Zardari which has been accepted.
