Almost all the private educational institutions were holding routine classes and summer camps across Sialkot district in the prevailing scorching hot weather in sheer violation of the Punjab government's notification regarding summer vacations from June 1, across the province.

The students are attending their routine classes in schools in colourful costumes instead of wearing school uniforms in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Bhopalwala, Uggoki, Pasrur, Badiana, Chawinda and surrounding areas. The students and teachers of the government schools are enjoying summer vacations while the students and their teachers in private schools are forced to attend their routine classes in such hot and humid weather.

On the other hand, owners of some private schools are of the view that they are holding summer camps with the consent of the students parents and they would announce the summer vacation at the end of the current month after holding the first term exams.

However, several parents complained that the innocent students were suffering from severe heat during daily hours-long power loadshedding as there were no proper arrangements of generators, fans and water coolers in the classrooms of private schools. They urged the provincial government to ensure early closure of the private educational institutions for summer vacation in the district.

When contacted, Sialkot DCO Shakeel Ahmed told the newsmen that the district government would ensure early summer vacation in all private schools in the district.
