LAHORE - A 10-member delegation from Kenyan government called on Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Chairman Khawaja Ahmad Hassan on Wednesday and discussed the possibility to hire LWMC’s services to improve solid waste management system in Kenyan counties.

Kajiado County Government Deputy Governor Mr Paul Mpute was leading the delegation consisted of George Risa (Deputy Speaker County Assembly), Ali Daud (Environmentalist) and other county assembly members. After a formal and detailed discussion on the current system of solid waste management in the provincial capital, Mr Paul Mpute praised the state of cleanliness across the city and congratulated Lahorites to have such a refined and modern SWM system.

He also expressed his deep interest in seeking Punjab government’s help for improving SWM in Kenyan counties on model of Lahore. Khawaja Ahmad Hassan paid gratitude to Kenyan delegation for well-wishing Punjab leadership for their developmental initiatives and also ensured them for all kind of technical support regarding SWM improvement in their country.

Previously, the delegation met LWMC MD Khalid Majeed at company’s head office near Shimla Hill and got briefing about modern waste management strategy, field operations, and company’s projects including sanitary landfill site, Biogas and Waste to Energy in a detailed presentation.
