Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has decided to contest the 2018 general elections as an independent candidate, local media reported on Monday.

The statement issued by Ch Nisar Ali Khan on Sunday gave a clear indication that he would no longer go along PML-N as he termed the whole exercise of taking formal applications and interviews from all those seeking party tickets a ploy to keep him at bay.

He reiterated that he is neither applicant of party ticket nor dependent on it and advised the party high-ups sitting in Jati Umra neither make themselves a laughing stock nor insult him (Nisar) by their childish moves.

He questioned that whether this remained a practice in the past to award tickets to the party veterans adding that after recovering from his illness he would reflect upon all this in detail.
