Newly constructed building of SYM School handed over to KU

 KARACHI   -  The poor schooling system at the the grassroots level has put a negative impact on the higher education system. No society could be developed without making education its main priority as to achieve excellence in higher education and research sector and professional success the seed was sown at the school level.

The nations that have made education their topmost priority and invested in it were making rapid progress today. This is so unfortunate that the health and the education sectors are always neglected while making policies and budgets.

These views were expressed by the Vice-Chancellor University of Karachi Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi on Thursday. He was addressing the ceremony of handing over of Sardar Yasin Malik School building to the University of Karachi.

The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi expressed that the establishment of Sardar Yasin Malik School at the University of Karachi was commendable and we all are thankful to him for his extraordinary contribution. He mentioned that this was not the first time that Sardar Yasin Malik had come forward and completed a project for the University of Karachi and we hoped that he would continue providing his support to the Karachi University.

He said that around six acres of land were allocated for the school project and initially primary education would be provided in the school and gradually we would start secondary education in another building.

“We already have planned to expand the school project and will be equipped with the latest and modern facilities.” He informed the audience that the KU administration had applied for the registration of the school and as soon as we get the approval from the concerned authority, we would constitute a management board that would have people having excellent academics and professional backgrounds.

Meanwhile, Sardar Yasin Malik shared that he would like to build another building for the secondary school as well as a vocational training centre for women. “I am happy that after completion of the construction work of the school, this building is being handed over to the management of Karachi University today and I will continue to cooperate with my alma mater in future too.”

He said that we all have to play our role in the promotion of education. He mentioned that he was supported and guided by some people during his early days as a student and when he started his work and due to them and this is why he always wants to help others.

According to him, we should extend cooperation and should support each other so that we could achieve our goals and dreams. On this occasion, the deans of various faculties, member Syndicate Sahibzada Moazzam Qureshi, Director Finance Tariq Kaleem, faculty members, and administrative staff were present.
