MIRPUR (AJK) - The Forum of Mirpur Civil Society which met here called for naming the forthcoming new campus of the state-run Mirpur University of Science & Technology after Raja Zulqarnain Khan, the former President of AJK, in acknowledgement of his meritorious services for the education sector in the area.
The new campus of the MUST is being constructed over 4,500 kanal of land on Jari Kasss Road here after Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the campus on March 12. Addressing the meeting, held with Raja Abid Hussain in the chair, speakers including Ch Muhammad Sharif, retired DSP, Raja Zaffar Ali, Ch Aftab, Raja Raza, Ch Aslam, Raja Javeid, Sufi Salim Akhter, Liaqat Khan, Altaf Hussain, Humayun Javed Raja, Raja Sikander, Raja Tariq Mahmood and others paid rich tributes to Raja Zulqarnain Khan for his untiring efforts for the establishment of the university in public sector in Mirpur district.
Speakers said that the historic and unprecedented services of Khan will be all remembered.
MUST emerged only due to the extra-ordinary and personal efforts of Raja Zulqarnian Khan, they observed, adding that the varsity had opened new avenues of economic progress and prosperity after bringing about the quality future architects for the nation.
