PESHAWAR - Taking immediate notice of the incorrect preliminary electoral rolls 2011, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Information and Inter Provincial Coordination, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has asked the Provincial Election Commissioner to make correction to the said lists.
He observed that the lists carried a drastic missing of votes of district Nowshera voters.
This he directed while receiving mass scale agitation by the voters of the entire district of Nowshera.
The Minister said that the provincial Election Commission must look into the grave mistakes and missing of voters in the preliminary electoral rolls.
It is permanent to mention that the preliminary electoral rolls displayed in 101 centres in Nowshera did not enroll even the VVIPs and Ministers of the area. Some areas have been left out and some names have been enrolled in different electoral areas instead of their owns and even some expired persons have still been shown as voters.
In Nowshera/ Pabbi Tehsils in various block codes voters have not been registered in proper/ relevant block. Data sent to NADRA after door to door verification have been ignored in most cases related to affected Tehsils in Nowshera and Pabbi.
The Information Minister said that the grievances of affected people were genuine and need to be redressed. He directed the Provincial Election Commission to look into the matter and remove the mistakes from the electoral rolls at the earliest in supreme interest of the general public. He added that it was very important and national issue and need to be heeded appropriately.
