KARACHI - Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation called on Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Mumtaz Haider Rizvi at Customs House here on Saturday to appraise him about the tax-related problems of the business community.

KCCI President Mian Abrar Ahmad and members informed the FBR chairman about the apprehensions of business and industrial community related to SRO 191(1)/2012. The chairman FBR invited KCCI’s proposals in this regard and to broaden the tax base. Issue of flying invoices and harassment to business community was also discussed.

Rizvi listened t the grievances appraised by the KCCI delegation and sought KCCI suggestions and proposals in this regard for subsequent decision in the follow-up meeting scheduled to be held during the next week. KCCI delegation also requested Chairman FBR to open the Customs House and Custom-Bonded Warehouses on Saturdays.

The FBR chief agreed and announced that Customs House will remain open on Saturdays.  Member Inland Revenue FBR Shahid Hussain Asad and other FBR officials also participated in the meeting.
