Poverty stricken tries to take her family’s life

KASUR - Two minor children drowned while their mother and sister were saved by locals. A woman attempted to committee suicide by plunging in BS- Link Canal at Chunian.
One Bushra Bibi of Hujra Shah Moqeem, District Okara, had come to the house of her in laws in village Kando Khara. A day before her arrival Bushra had a dispute with her husband Zahoor Ali, a laborer, over some domestic issue. Police added that poverty was also one of the reasons behind the extreme step.
On Saturday noon, Bushra along with her three children including Kashif, 7, Kiran, 5, and Uzma, 2, jumped into BS Link Canal near the bridge to end their lives. Some local farmers, seeing the woman jumping along with her children tried to save the family. The farmers saved Bushra and Kiran while Kashif and Uzma drowned. They also fished the body of Uzma while Rescue 1122 was striving to recover Kashif’s body.
Bushra Bibi and Kiran were rushed to civil hospital Chunian where they were stated to be out of danger.
Meanwhile, A man died while two sustained injuries when a speedy car hit a tractor from the rear, here on Saturday morning, at Raiwind Kasur road near Ittefaq Flour Mills in the limits of Sadar Kasur police station.
Muhammad Rafiq was on his way from village Rao Khan Wala to Kasur on his tractor when he reached Ittefaq Flour Mills on Raiwind Kasur road, a speedy car LEE- 5809 coming from the rear, hit the tractor. As a result Muhammad Usman of Sargodha, who was driving the car, died on the spot while his companions Qasim Ali and Kamran of Jaranwala sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to DHQ Hospital Kasur but were referred to Lahore General Hospital in critical condition.
