LAKKI MARWAT - The public representatives are responsible for the backwardness of the district, as they have failed to deliver and resolve the problems of area people during the last four years.

This was stated by JUI-F MPA Naseer Muhammad Khan Maidadkhel while speaking at an inaugural ceremony of polio eradication campaign in a remote Manjiwala village on Saturday.

The district health department had organized the ceremony with the assistance of CMDO, a nongovernmental organization.

Mr Naseer said that the poor state of healthcare facilities in the state run hospitals and health units could be judged from the fact that over ninety posts of doctors were lying vacant in the district since long.

“This is enough to prove the performance of lawmakers and seriousness of the government towards the provision of better medical facilities to the area people”, he maintained.

DCO Nisar Ahmad, ACO Liaqat Ali Bhatti, EDO Health Dr Abdul Ghaffar Wazir, DDO Dr Abdul Rehman, FR Lakki Agency Surgeon Dr Mashaal Khan, DHQ hospital MS Dr Muhammad Ishaq, MNCH Public Health Specialist Dr Hidayatullah, NRDF coordinator Shahid Anwar, Mufti Ihsanullah and officials of CMDO were also present on the occasion.

The JUI-F lawmaker along with the officials of district administration and health department administered oral polio vaccine to several children below the age of five years. “To save our children from polio is in our own hands as the disease is dangerous and can cause lifelong paralyse to the kids under the age of five years”, he told.

He thanked the world nations for providing all out assistance to the government and people of Pakistan to wipe out the crippling disease completely.

He said that the country could be made free from polio only with launching concerted efforts and involving people from all walks of life especially public representatives and clerics in anti polio campaigns.
