FAISALABAD - Four armed bandits gunned down two security guards and driver of a cash-carrying-van and made off with Rs2.1 million here in Samundari area on Thursday.

The police said that the bandits intercepted the cash-carrying-van of a private security company sprayed the guards and driver before fleeing the scene with the cash. The police, quoting the eye-witnesses, informed that the culprits, riding a honda car (BAD-790) intercepted the cash van near Samundari and opened indiscriminate firing on the vehicle. Resultantly, the van driver identified as Muhammad Aslam, security guards - Qalab Hussain and Haji Muhammad Sharif were killed on the spot.

The outlaws took the cash from the vehicle and drove off in the car. The police said that the outlaws suddenly attacked the vehicle, giving the security guards little time to retaliate. Heavy police contingent including police high-ups reached the spot on receiving information and started collecting evidence from the scene.


The police set up picket in entire district to arrest the culprits but failed to trace out the outlaws till filing of this report. The police also launched search operation in different areas.

The dead bodies were shifted to civil hospital for medico-legal formalities while the Police have registered a case against unidentified bandits.
