LAHORE - Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani has said that accountability of all including political parties is necessary to rid the country of corruption.
While talking to media at a local hospital where he went to inquire after PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan who underwent heart treatment on Wednesday, the Senate chairman said law should be implemented across the board.
There should not be different standards of law, which unfortunately is in vogue in this country.
He said that for elite the application of the same law is different from what is on the poor. The same law is applied in five different modes which is not fair and just, he said.
Rabbani said that our country is badly hit by corruption and that must come to an end. Therefore all, including the political parties, should be held accountable.
Rabbani favoured strict implementation of the 18th Constitutional amendment as a means to strengthen Federation.
