DUBAI- Pakistan cueists will be rubbing their shoulders with some of world's top professionals in Six Red Ball Pro, An Invitation Snooker Tournament schedule to be held in Bangkok (Thailand) from July 8 to 13. "We are inviting top professionals and best players from across Asia including Pakistan for the competition," President of Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports (ACBS) Sindhu Pulsirivong told APP Correspondent Ehsan Qureshi in an interview on Saturday. "Its one of the biggest event to be staged in Asia with two million Baht prize money at offer," he said. He said top professionals to feature in the competition included Jimmy White, James Wattana, Marcu Fu, Ken Doherty, Tony Drago etc. would be in action for a 48 draw competition. ACBS Chief said these professionals would be joined by top amateur players from China, India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates and host Thailand for six-day event. He said keeping in view the standing of the players, they may invite one or two players from Asian countries and rest from Thailand. He said the winner of the championship would be getting half a million baht and runner-up grab 250,000 baht. Describing the format, he said players will be drawn in eight groups of six each and top player from each group after the round robin league will advance in the last 32 round. He said six red ball championships will be a brisk contest and fill with more excitement and drama for spectators as well as for players and greatly help in raising the standard of snooker in the continent. Sindhu Pulsirivong said organizers of the tournament will be providing complimentary boarding and lodging to the players and even the lowest ranked player will be taking home prize money.
