ISLAMABAD Prime Minister Syed Yosuf Raza Gilani has called upon all the Chief Ministers to focus on capacity building of the provincial institutions for effective utilization of additional resources under the new NFC Award, which would come into affect from July 1, 2010. According to PM House spokesman, Prime Minister was talking to the Chief Ministers of all the provinces prior to the review meeting on the decisions of Energy Summit. He asked them to include such pro-poor projects in their development programmes which could mitigate the hardships of the downtrodden section of the society. The Prime Minister stated that the responsibility of the provinces has increased manifolds after inclusion of new subjects under the recently enacted constitutional reforms. He expressed confidence that enhanced provincial autonomy would go a long way in strengthening the democratic institutions in the country. It would also strengthen the Federation and national integration, he added.
