Railways to facilitate traders

RAWALPINDI - Divisional Superintendent, Pakistan Railways (PR) Humayun Rasheed said that Government was making all out efforts to solve the problems of business community. Railways could turn out to be a profitable, if it won the trust of the businessmen, he further said while addressing the traders and industrialists during his visit to Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Monday. On the occasion, RCCI President, Kashif Shabbir, Senior Vice President, Syed Ali Raza, Vice President Rashid Waien and other members of RCCI were also present. While speaking, Hamayun said that owing to wrong policies and lack of facilities to the businessmen were the major causes of the Railways arrears. He further said that all the possible facilities would be provided to traders at the Islamabad Dry Port (IDP) and no stone would be left unturned in this regard. He ensured his full cooperation to the RCCI. Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President, Kashif Shabbir, said that train would be a cheaper way of transportation, if PR supported the local business community, it would also be beneficial for the department itself He said that India had a huge market for Pakistani cement industry and Pakistan could earn billion of rupees per year while enhancing train services between the two countries. He said that India placed huge demand of cement and we have enough to fulfil their orders but all was vain due to the lack of transportation services. RCCI President, Kashif Shabbir demanded of the government that all the hurdles must be resolved at earliest in this regard, so the business community might earn national exchequer.
