LAHORE - A 14-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speedy vehicle in Batapur police limits on Monday. The deceased was later identified as Awais, student of ninth class, and resident of Batapur. Police investigators said that the victim was playing besides the main road when a speedy tractor hit him and as a result he received severe injuries and died on the spot. However, the tractor driver managed to flee from the spot. Police have registered a case against the unknown accused driver and later handed over the body to the victim family after competition of initial legal requirements. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man was trampled to death by a speedy car in Kahna police area. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Boota, a resident of Kahna. Police investigators said that the victim was on his way to home when an unidentified speeding car hit him near the main bazar Kahana and as a result he sustained severe injuries. Some locals of the area shifted him to nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Later, a case was also registered against the accused driver with no arrest till filing of this report.
