BUREWALA - The police have booked a man along with his wife and daughter for collecting computerised identity cards by receiving Rs50 each from the poor by giving them promise of Rs3,000 compensation from the government here on Monday. The police, on a tip off from the neighbouring village Chak No 429-EB that a man Ghulam Raza along with his wife Kaneez Fatima and daughter Shahida Parveen has announced in the village that government had announced Rs3,000 compensation per family. They started to receive Rs50 per Computerised National Identity Cards from them, as application fee from them. The police recovered 37 CNICs and money from their possession. SHO police said that we had started investigation to know the facts while some contesting candidates have shown reservation about this practice. He further said that the collection of identity cards was meant for the electoral trickery and demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan to take vigilant action in this regard.
