LAHORE The Punjab Food Department on Monday suspended two Food Inspectors on the charges of embezzlement during the wheat procurement campaign. According to an official handout, Deputy Director Food Lahore Region Muhammad Hussain Khokhar paid a surprise visit to Kangan Pur wheat procurement center and suspended Food Inspector Nadeem Shakir who was the In-charge at the center for committing irregularities in the issuance of jute bags. Similarly, Deputy Director Food Bahawalpur suspended Food Inspector Aftab Butt at Nawazabad procurement center in Rahim Yar Khan on the charges of issuing 5000 jute bags to someone without verification. The police concerned have registered cases against them and are investigating.
