KC notch U-19 Inter-Dist Cricket Title

LAHORE Kinnaird Club Lahore won the Regional Under-19 Inter-district Girls Cricket Tournament here on Wednesday. In front of cheering cricket fans and chief guest PCB women wing representative Bushra Atizaz, KC overwhelmed Ravi Club by eight wickets in the final at the Kinnaird College ground. Former PCB women wing chairperson Shirin Javed, LCCA secretary Mian Javed Ali and Dr Rukhsana were also present on the occasion. Batting first, Ravi Club made 140 runs while losing all of its wickets in 24.5 overs. Maham 36, Zunera 35 and Aqsa 16 were the main scorers of Ravi Club. Fariha and Bakhtawar shared three and four wickets respectively for 29 and 17 runs to restrict Ravi clubs total. In reply, Kinnaid Club achieved the target in 21.5 overs. The credit of win apart from their bowlers, went to Namra who remained not out at 51. She hit two four and a six in her match-winning innings. Faryal 41 not out and Fariha 17 were the other contributors. Farwa got one wicket from Ravi attack. Namra was declared the player of the match and also the player of the tournament along with Faryal. The match was supervised by Abid Waqas and Shakeela Qureshi while Masood Ahmed was the scorer. Meanwhile, the Lahore region women wing representative also announced two players for Lahore girl cricket camp. The selected players have been asked to report at the Kinnaid College ground for training.
