LAHORE - MoneyGram International (NYSE: MCI), a leading global money transfer provider, is continuing its commitment to the global community and coming to the aid of countries hit by natural disaster. The company announced that it has donated $200,000 to the American Red Cross to assist in flood relief efforts in Pakistan, says a press release. The donation is a result of a campaign from Aug 20 to Sept. 20, in which MoneyGram pledged a portion of its Pakistan transaction send fees to support the relief efforts of the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network on the ground in Pakistan. 'While the flood waters are receded, a massive Red Cross response continues to help the families devastated by the disaster, says David Meltzer, senior vice president of International Services at the American Red Cross. MoneyGram has been a tremendous partner in supporting this relief effort, and we are deeply appreciative of its generosity. MoneyGram maximized the donation by implementing the program in its leading send countries to Pakistan including the US, UK, Spain and Italy.
