Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday said there was no shortage of sugar in the country as one-month surplus stocks were available. Talking to reporters after a function to hand over plots to widows of CDA employees, the Prime Minister said the total requirements of the country were 300,000 metric tonnes and it has the stocks of all the sugar that has been imported. He said in the meeting of the Central Executive Committee he had asked the Chief Ministers to devise a mechanism for distribution of sugar. He said they have also been asked to fix the price and control hoarding so that the people get due relief.
