It is very strange that a minister in the National Assembly is making a hue and cry about stopping and checking of his car by the military guard. I think he is just ignoring the fact that the country is under the grip of terrorism. It was the duty of the guard to signal the car to halt and check it. It was also the duty of the driver and occupants of the car to cooperate with security guards. Will the minister tell the nation how many guards he carries with him when he moves around? The VIP culture must end. Long convoys and motorcades, which is a huge burden on the national exchequer should be discouraged. MAJOR ANWAR PASHA (RETD), Lahore, November 9.
