ISLAMABAD - The commission constituted by the Supreme Court in Rental Power Projects (RPPs) case has issued Thursday notices to all interested persons asking them to contact the chairman of the commission with their details. The commission has asked the persons, who wish to provide any information or file affidavit, to appear in person or send their names with full particulars and address in the office of Justice (r) Rahmat Hussain Jafferi, chairman of the commission, in the Supreme Court Building Islamabad by November 24. The Supreme Court on the application of PML-N MNA Khawaja Asif constituted the commission pertaining to causing delay in the installation of two power projects, to be set up at Nandipur in Gujranwala district and Chichokimalian in Sheikhupura district. The commission is mandated to probe and determine whether there is any negligence on the part of the executive authorities which has caused delay in completion of both the projects. And if it is so, how much loss has been caused to the national exchequer in terms of opportunity-costs and other loses. The commission will also determine who is responsible for causing delay in the completion of documents.
