PML-N to hold conference after Muharram

KARACHI - The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has announced to convene a conference to discuss demerits of the recently-passed Sindh Peoples Local Government Law 2012 after Muharram, in the City.
Zain Ansari, PML-N leader and chief of party’s fact-finding committee to look into the issues in the local government law, while addressing a press conference at the residence of party leader Haji Shafi Jamote here on Saturday said that the PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif would participate in the conference on local government law in Karachi.
Flanked with Marvi Memon, Haji Shafi Jamotem Kheal Das and other leaders of the party, Ansari said that the leaders of all the opposition parties, writers, intellectuals, lawyers, civil society and other folks of society would be invited for the conference.
It may be noted that the SPLGA has been challenged in the Supreme Court by Barrister Zamir Ghumro on the ground of devolution of the 43 departments to the districts as contradiction of constitution, urging the apex court to issue stay order banning the Sindh government from implementation on the local government law.
Besides, the PML-Q, PML-F, ANP and NPP while opposing the LG law had already parted ways with the ruling PPP and becomes the part of the movement launched by the nationalist parties under the banner of Save Sindh Committee.
PML-N leader Zain Ansari said that his party also part of the Save Sindh Committee but it would continue its struggle against the anti-Sindh steps of the ruling PPP.
He alleged that the people of the Sindh who hold domicile of the interior districts would not permitted for jobs in Karachi, so the people of the Sindh will not let the implementation happened on the controversial law.
