LAHORE - The representatives of the professional accounting bodies from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, who assembled at the South Asian Federation of Accountants’ (SAFA) Summit and 12th Management Accounting International Conference (MAIC) on Saturday at Lahore International EXPO, discussed the emerging trends in professional accountancy and presented innovative ideas to upgrade the profession in order to accelerate the pace of economic development, promote investment, create jobs and alleviate poverty in the region.

The Summit and the Conference is being organized by the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP).

 Accountants can play an effective role, incoming to grips with the emerging challenges. Serving as accountants, controllers, administrators, advisors, business managers, CEO, CFO etc, they influence every aspect of business enterprises. They create value by their roles in planning and control, decision support, strategy formulation through promoting effectiveness and efficiency which ever organization, public or private, they work for.

To keep abreast the Accountants with the changes taking place in the global scenario, ICMAP has chosen theme “Emerging Trends in Professional Accountancy” for the SAFA Summit & 12th MAIC.

 Eminent experts from home and abroad will share their views on the occasion.
